Since 2008, the African-American Greek Bowling Challenge has become a highlight of our organization, and a network-wide best practice for other Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies. It has grown from engaging just 74 participants in 2008 to close to 150 participants in 2012. Over the course of the last four years, the African-American Greek Bowling Challenge has raised more than $40,000 to support mentoring programs in our community.
This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit witnessed another successful Greek Bowl as the local African-American fraternities and sororities fundraised over $12,000 in support of our programs that provide solutions for community youth!
Congratulations to the gentlemen of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Iota Rho Lambda Chapter and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Lambda Pi Omega Chapter on being the top fundraising fraternity and sorority chapter!
